RYA Courses - Autumn 2025
RYA courses - Thanks to the support of a few new and young volunteers, our taster day dinghy sailing has been very popular this summer and we will be funding at least two, 5-day, RYA courses – Level 1 & 2 and Level 3 – at Spinnaker Sailing Club during autumn half term week in October.
The Hampshire Fair:
Wednesday 1st October 2025
The RSYCT will behave a stand at the annual Hampshire Fair, at The Grange, Northington, to raise awareness of the work of the charity.
The organisers anticipate over 60 stall holders, so a good place to start buying your Christmas presents. Please join us!
Summer 2025
We planned to organise six one-day taster sessions, with a total of 180 places, at the RSYC clubhouse on the River Beaulieu. Unfortunately a spring storm, with high winds and tides meant that we had to cancel two dates in May for Wiltshire, Romsey and Winchester Young Carers. The good news is that we did manage to offer an additional taster day in August and the weather was perfect.
BIG Autumn Give Challenge!
The theme of this year’s challenge is to raise £3,000 to fund replacement kayaks in time for the 2026 season, as ours are getting old and starting to degrade. Please give generously, using the DONATE button!
Every little counts: new water sports helmets cost £50; life jackets cost in the region of £75, and a five-day RYA Level 1 & 2 course for a dinghy sailor costs £350.
New summer activities calendar
May - October 2026
We have launched our summer calendar with Gins Water Activity Days for 120 young carers taking place on May 26/27 and August 17/18.
In addition we will be providing opportunities for young carers to progress in their preferred sport - dinghy sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking and windsurfing - at Spinnaker Sailing Club, Ringwood and another venue closer to Southampton.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us run our Activity Days. Please email us: RSYCTrust@Rsyc.org.uk
